Midweight Designer – Retail & Experiential

About the role

Activation Union is seeking a Midweight Designer to create high‑quality visual solutions for retail, experiential, BTL and digital projects. The role sits within the design team in Surry Hills and works closely with the Design Director and account managers to turn concepts into production‑ready artwork.

Key responsibilities

• Develop creative design concepts across retail, experiential, BTL and digital environments, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
• Produce detailed artwork, managing typography, layout, imagery and visual hierarchy with strong attention to detail.
• Prepare accurate, production‑ready files for print and digital applications, conducting quality checks against specifications.
• Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to guarantee smooth delivery of assets.
• Contribute to ideation sessions, translate briefs into clear design solutions and solve creative problems.
• Present work internally, communicate design rationale and support collaborative team culture.
• Maintain organised project files, manage multiple deadlines and follow internal processes.

Required profile

• Proven ability to take projects from concept through to final artwork with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong visual sensibility for typography, layout and imagery.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced agency environment and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Curiosity and a proactive approach to creative problem‑solving.
• Understanding of print production, finishes and manufacturing processes.
