About the role

Our client, an Australian technology company developing advanced optical sensing and spatial awareness systems, is seeking a Mid‑Senior Software Engineer to join a high‑performing team in Sydney CBD. The role focuses on building core software components that enable computer‑vision capabilities for safety‑critical machines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test software modules that deliver computer‑vision functionality.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems and robotics engineers to integrate software into complete products.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans and release notes.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Embed cybersecurity considerations throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support ISO 9001‑aligned quality management and traceability processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 4‑10+ years of experience or a strong interest in computer vision, robotics or embedded/systems software.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, fast‑paced technical teams.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to high‑quality documentation.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge.
