About the role

Datacom is seeking a Middleware Consultant to design and implement complex middleware platforms for large enterprise organisations across Australia and New Zealand. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from assessing customer needs and strategic planning to solution design, delivery and ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build and document middleware solutions that meet evolving IT requirements and project specifications.
  • Provide high‑level and detailed design input, deliver services on time and budget, and advise customers on strategic planning.
  • Support sales proposals, liaise with customers during installation and testing, and identify follow‑on business opportunities.

Required profile

  • 5+ years of experience in technical consulting or middleware implementation.
  • Australian citizenship with an active NV1 security clearance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

  • DevOps tools: Azure DevOps, Ansible, GitLab CI‑CD, GitHub, Containers, Kubernetes, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk.
  • Oracle middleware suite: Fusion Middleware, SOA, Service Bus, Enterprise Data Quality, Intelligent Advisor, e‑Business Suite, Business Intelligence, Web Centre, IAM, Web ADI, Discoverer.
  • Web servers and application platforms: WebLogic (12c, 14c), Oracle HTTP Server, Tomcat, Apache.
  • Databases: Cassandra, Hyperion Essbase.
  • Programming and scripting: Shell, WLST, Python, Java, SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Integration technologies: SOAP/REST web services, JMS/MQ, XML, JSON, XQuery, XSLT, YAML, ETL.
  • Security: OpenSSH, OpenSSL, JKS, Oracle Wallet/PKI, OAuth, TLS/SSL, JFrog Artifactory, LDAP, Oracle Access Manager.
