Mid-Term Planning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Mid‑Term Planning Engineer to develop, maintain and communicate long‑term mine plans for Phosphate Hill Mine. The role supports safe, inclusive and high‑performance operations through accurate scheduling, design and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the long‑term mine schedule, keeping variance within ±5 % of plan targets.
• Create pit and waste‑dump designs, including overburden removal, ore extraction, waste placement and back‑fill using Deswik CAD.
• Prepare and present annual budget mine‑plan physicals to underpin financial budgeting.
• Ensure mine plans are safe, operationally deliverable and commercially accurate, reflecting current resource models and geotechnical constraints.
• Mentor and develop Mine Production Engineers in planning techniques and mine‑design fundamentals.
• Collaborate with contractors to align mid‑term plans with execution activities.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (minimum bachelor’s degree).
• Proven experience in surface/open‑cut mining environments with responsibility for long‑term planning.
• Commitment to a safe, inclusive and high‑performance culture.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP Business Systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience using Deswik scheduling and Deswik CAD software.
• Knowledge of Life‑of‑Mine planning and JORC reporting standards.
