Mid-Level Software Engineer – Medical Devices

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Software Engineer to join a leading medical‑device company in Homebush West. The role focuses on developing safety‑critical cardiac electrophysiology software using C/C++ and modern GUI technologies in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain C/C++ software modules for cardiac electrophysiology equipment.
• Create intuitive graphical user interfaces with XAML/WPF.
• Translate clinical and user requirements into efficient algorithms and software logic.
• Debug, test and optimise code for performance, reliability and regulatory compliance.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Develop and execute software test protocols.
• Collaborate with hardware, QA and clinical specialists.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and quality processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in medical‑device or other regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defence, mining).
• Strong background in C and C++ development.
• Proven experience with XAML/WPF for GUI development.
• Hands‑on experience with debugging, performance optimisation and code reviews.
• Ability to work from complex requirements and solve problems effectively.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
