MEL and Communications Officer – Australia Pacific Leaders Program

About the role

The Australia Pacific Leaders Program (APLP) seeks a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) and Communications Officer to support data collection, analysis and reporting across study tours, visits and training activities. The role is based in Australia (Canberra or Brisbane preferred) and may involve domestic and international travel.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the APLP MEL framework, applying indicators, tools and reporting processes.
• Collect, collate and manage activity‑level data, including participant feedback and related records.
• Maintain data quality, consistency and completeness in line with governance standards.
• Synthesize data and evidence to produce briefings, reports, case studies and communications content.
• Capture lessons learned and facilitate reflection processes for adaptive management.
• Populate, structure and maintain the Program Delivery Hub as a central repository of program information.
• Consolidate activity, participant, travel and results data to enhance visibility and reporting.

Required profile

• Full work rights for Australia.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Experience in MEL, data management and producing analytical reports.
• Strong written communication skills for translating data into clear communications products.
