Medical Receptionist – Casual and Part Time

About the role

Bupa Medical Services is looking for a Medical Receptionist in Darlinghurst and Pitt St, NSW. The role is described as casual and part-time, with two part-time schedules available: Role 1 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and Role 2 on two days per week (8:45am to 5:45pm). Casual hours are also available to cover annual and sick leave and staffing shortages. The candidate must be able to support both the Darlinghurst and Pitt St practices, which are a 15-minute walk apart.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors professionally and kindly, from arrival to departure
• Register new patients and update existing patient information in the clinic's system
• Manage appointment bookings and coordinate with medical staff to schedule consultations, tests and follow-ups
• Process payments, health insurance claims and billing inquiries, keeping accurate records and confidential information secure
• Keep the reception area clean, organised and stocked, and monitor inventory and request supplies
• Work closely with the general practice nursing team

Required profile

• Medical reception experience; previous GP Medical Receptionist experience is ideal
• Best practice experience is advantageous
• Ability to work the availability specified for the chosen role
• Previous experience handling payments, insurance claims and billing is helpful
