Medical Officer – Primary Care in Defence Health Centre

About the role

The ACT Health Centre provides comprehensive on‑base healthcare to Australian Defence Force personnel. As a Medical Officer you will deliver high‑quality primary care in a unique, non‑billing environment, supporting service members throughout their careers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary medical consultations, longer appointments and dedicated admin time for patient‑centred care.
• Conduct occupational health assessments, fitness‑for‑duty evaluations, pre‑ and post‑deployment care, injury management, chronic disease management and preventive health initiatives.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, dental, mental health, pharmacy and physiotherapy professionals.

Required profile

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner (FRACGP, FACRRM or vocational registration).
• Minimum two years GP experience within the last five years (including GP training).
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009) and Australian citizenship (baseline security clearance).
• Commitment to continuous professional development and ethical, patient‑centred care.
