Medical Officer – Health Services Team

About the role

Serco is seeking a qualified Medical Officer to join the health services team at Acacia Correctional Centre in Wooroloo, WA. You will provide comprehensive medical care to inmates, supporting their rehabilitation and ensuring a safe, respectful environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary care, mental health, drug & alcohol, and emergency medical services to the inmate population.
• Promote rehabilitation and reintegration through appropriate diagnosis, treatment, and health education.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maintain safety and security within the correctional facility.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with staff and external health providers.

Required profile

• Unconditional, unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPR.
• Medical degree from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Fellowship or progress towards Fellowship with RACGP.
• Current Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Experience in primary care, mental health, drug & alcohol, and emergency care.
• Strong cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse populations.
