Medical Officer – Acacia Correctional Centre

About the role

Serco is seeking a qualified Medical Officer to join the health services team at Acacia Correctional Centre in Wooroloo, Western Australia. The role involves delivering comprehensive medical care to inmates, supporting rehabilitation, and ensuring a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary, mental health, drug & alcohol, and emergency medical services to inmates.
• Conduct assessments, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans and support rehabilitation.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with AHPRA standards.
• Participate in health promotion and preventive care initiatives within the correctional setting.

Required profile

• Unconditional, unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA.
• Medical degree from a recognised university.
• Fellowship or progress towards Fellowship with RACGP.
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Experience in primary care, mental health, drug & alcohol, and emergency medicine.
