Medical Imaging Assistant (Casual)

About the role

Cabrini Health's Medical Imaging Department provides a 24-hour service seven days a week at its Malvern campus, serving outpatients, inpatients and ED patients across the Malvern and Brighton campuses. It offers modalities such as general X-ray, cath lab, hybrid lab, angiography, CT, MRI, mammography and DEXA, as well as ultrasound, nuclear medicine and PET imaging. The Medical Imaging Assistant works casual shifts from Monday to Friday, with weekend and public holiday shifts possibly available.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support and assistance under the direction of a radiographer or other clinical staff
• Deliver a high level of customer service to patients, visitors and staff
• Contribute to the team, cooperate and communicate effectively
• Perform cleaning duties and keep equipment clean
• Assist receptionists when needed, including answering the telephone, making appointments and scheduling inpatients

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Medical Imaging Assistant is desirable, or experience in a similar work environment
• Additional training and support will be provided to the successful candidate
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and to take direction
• Sound communication skills, proficient in written and spoken English
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role
