Media Relations Specialist

About the role

Australian Venue Co. is seeking a Media Relations Specialist to shape the public profile of its extensive portfolio of pubs, bars, restaurants and entertainment venues across Australia and New Zealand. You will work within the Brand & Communications team to turn compelling stories into earned media coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Build and nurture relationships with journalists in Australia and New Zealand.
• Identify newsworthy stories and craft pitches that generate quality earned coverage.
• Write media releases, briefing notes and supporting content.
• Collaborate with marketing, operations and venue teams to bring campaigns to life.
• Track media coverage, analyse trends and measure PR impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience in media relations, public relations or communications.
• Strong existing media contacts or the ability to quickly develop trusted relationships.
• Outstanding writing ability and a keen news sense.
• Experience managing multiple campaigns and competing priorities.
• Confidence working with internal stakeholders and senior leaders.
