Mechanical Tradesperson - Water Infrastructure

About the role

Guma Warnii Resources is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson for its Water Services Client, based at the Kalgoorlie Regional Office in Western Australia. The role supports the installation, maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of water and wastewater infrastructure across the Kalgoorlie region. The position starts on 2 November 2026 and runs until 29 April 2027, at 38 hours per week plus overtime, with a rate of up to $70.48 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance, installation, testing, repairs and commissioning across water and wastewater systems.
• Service and maintain bore field generators, pressure regulating valves (PRVs), pressure safety valves (PSVs), chlorinators, trailers and plant equipment.
• Carry out complex isolations and shutdown procedures safely and effectively.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with water treatment and chemical dosing systems.
• Plan maintenance activities and prepare for projects involving isolated assets.
• Support regional operations through standby rosters and travel to other districts when required.

Required profile

• A recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate in Fitting, Machining or Turning.
• Demonstrated experience servicing and maintaining PRVs and PSVs.
• Experience working with chemical dosing systems, including chlorine.
• Relevant high-risk work licences.
• A current WA MR class driver's licence.
• Flexibility to join standby rosters and travel across the region.
• Only candidates based in Kalgoorlie with Australian working rights will be considered.

• Fault-finding and maintenance skills.
