Mechanical Service Technician

About the role

Komatsu Underground is seeking a Mechanical Service Technician to support underground mining customers in the Mudgee region. You will plan your weekly schedule based on site locations, enjoy autonomy, and receive comprehensive onboarding and classroom training.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive advice and support to underground customers.
• Facilitate start‑up and commissioning of Joy Global and other mining equipment.
• Deliver advanced technical support and troubleshooting on longwall and development machines.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure reliable operation and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Trade (certificate or apprenticeship).
• Experience working with underground longwall or development mining equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage travel between sites.

• Underground longwall mining equipment operation and maintenance.
