Mechanical Maintenance Planner

About the role

BlueScope is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join the Maintenance team at its Western Port Manufacturing facility in Hastings. In this permanent, full‑time position you will support manufacturing operations by ensuring the performance, safety compliance and reliability of key plant assets.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and detail plan routine and shutdown maintenance work for mechanical equipment.
• Develop Job Safety and Environmental Analyses (JSEAs) and conduct comprehensive hazard assessments.
• Create, implement and manage detailed shutdown maintenance plans and schedules.
• Coordinate resources, labour and materials for shutdown projects, ensuring seamless integration with other operations.
• Capture maintenance history, analyse data and improve maintenance strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical maintenance planning within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of condition monitoring, asset reliability and safety standards.
• Ability to develop detailed maintenance and shutdown plans and manage task dependencies.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
