Mechanical Engineer II – Aerospace

About the role

Hypersonix is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to lead the design and analysis of structures and mechanical systems for cutting‑edge hypersonic vehicles. You will work within a high‑performing engineering team, ensuring mechanical integrity throughout the development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse mechanical structures and systems for hypersonic aircraft.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to verify structural integrity, performance and reliability.
• Utilise advanced simulation and analysis tools to assess performance under varied operating conditions.
• Contribute to innovative technologies and process improvements that boost vehicle capability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, external partners and suppliers as required.
• Promote a safe, high‑performance engineering environment and take accountability for team outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and simulation within the aerospace sector.
• Strong background in aircraft design and design for production.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Eligibility to obtain any required security clearance and the right to work in Australia.
