Mechanical Draftsperson - Truck Components

About the role

A well-established Australian manufacturer of mechanical truck components and engineered solutions is looking for a Draftsperson in Bayswater, VIC. The role sits alongside an experienced Mechanical Engineer, producing detailed manufacturing drawings for heavy vehicle components in a stable, long-term position.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings
• Create manufacturing and fabrication drawings for truck components
• Work closely with the Mechanical Engineer to develop new and existing products
• Update and revise drawings as required
• Liaise with the workshop so designs are practical and manufacturable
• Support continuous improvement of products and processes

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Draftsperson or Mechanical Designer
• Experience producing manufacturing or fabrication drawings
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and workshop staff

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software (ideally Onshape)
• Manufacturing and fabrication drawing production
