Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

An established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a busy pipeline of residential and commercial projects is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team on an initial 3-month contract. The role is hands-on for an experienced engineer who can pick up live projects and hit the ground running. There is potential for extension or transition into a permanent position depending on the workload.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical services design on residential and commercial projects
• Carry out load calculations, duct and fan sizing and equipment selection
• Prepare and review drawings, technical specifications and detailed reports
• Coordinate with architects, other disciplines and the wider project team to resolve design issues
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Conduct site inspections as required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian codes and standards (essential)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients and consultants

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Camel, Revit and AutoCAD
