Maths Teacher (Years 7-12)

About the role

Matrix Education is hiring Maths Teachers for Years 7 to 12 at its Bella Vista, Chatswood, Epping and Hurstville campuses in NSW. Casual and full-time opportunities are available, with regular weekly hours. Classes run after school on weekdays and on weekends, and there are also opportunities during the NSW school holiday period. Lessons and resources are prepared for you, so preparation is minimal.

Key responsibilities

• Teach regular weekly classes throughout the academic term, with all lesson materials and resources provided.
• Monitor students' academic progress by marking short weekly quizzes.
• Flag struggling students to academic team leaders for additional academic mentoring.

Required profile

• A genuine passion for teaching.
• Previous experience teaching secondary Maths in a classroom setting.
• Current NESA-accredited teacher, someone with previous teaching experience, or a postgraduate student (MTeach, MD or PhDc).
• Degree completed in Education, Mathematics, Science, Engineering or a related discipline; postgraduate study in these fields is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of the current NESA curriculum in Stage 4, 5 and 6 Maths.
