Material, Inventory and Supplier Specialist

About the role

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Material, Inventory and Supplier Specialist to support the Collins class Submarines Combat System programme for the Australian Defence Force. This hybrid role combines supply‑chain governance, subcontractor coordination and advanced inventory management to ensure mission‑critical material availability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage subcontractor activities, including deliverable coordination, schedule tracking and performance monitoring.
• Conduct subcontractor status reviews, identify risks and issues, and report performance metrics.
• Support supplier performance management through monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with commercial, procurement and supplier teams to align delivery outcomes.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, due‑diligence and capability assessments.
• Administer Contractor Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) and related reporting.
• Perform advanced inventory management tasks such as analysis, reconciliation and optimisation across multiple systems.
• Develop and maintain reporting on inventory performance, supplier performance and subcontractor status.
• Analyse trends, risks and opportunities to enhance supply‑chain performance and data integrity.
• Contribute to governance processes, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory and company requirements.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex supply‑chain issues and provide subject‑matter expertise.

Required profile

• University degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• 8–12 years of experience in supply‑chain, logistics, inventory management or subcontractor management.
• Proven experience delivering advanced supply‑support services in a complex, regulated environment.
• Ability to analyse data, produce actionable insights and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel within Australia as required.
