Manufacturing Manager

About the role

Primo Foods, one of Australia's most trusted food manufacturers, is looking for an experienced, hands-on Manufacturing Manager for its Wacol site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a large production team through frontline leaders and drive performance across safety, quality, service, cost and efficiency. The role is highly visible, with time spent on the factory floor developing people, embedding lean manufacturing and building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS, food safety and regulatory requirements
• Drive performance on safety, quality, service, cost, yield and throughput
• Lead day-to-day packaging operations to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality production
• Coach and develop frontline leaders to build capability and high-performing teams
• Work with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement teams to resolve issues and improve performance
• Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Optimise labour, materials and equipment use to maximise productivity
• Maintain GMP, HACCP, QA and site compliance and audit readiness
• Use production data and KPIs to drive decisions and accountability

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or a high-volume production environment
• Proven ability to lead and develop large teams through frontline leaders
• Resilient, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments

Required skills

• Food safety, quality systems, WHS and manufacturing compliance standards
• Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Ability to balance safety, quality, service and cost
