Manufacturing Engineer – Uncrewed Aerial Systems

About the role

Insitu Pacific is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the design, development, implementation and sustainment of manufacturing processes for Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and related components. The role is based in Brisbane and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge aerospace products in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document and implement manufacturing processes, work instructions and process flows for assigned UAS assemblies or production lines.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support to production and MRO teams, investigating and resolving moderate‑scope manufacturing issues.
• Collect and analyse production and quality data, applying basic statistical methods and problem‑solving tools to identify trends and root causes.
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, small capital improvements) to reduce cost, cycle time or non‑conformance.
• Review new and modified UAS designs for manufacturability and deliver clear recommendations.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, routing sheets and inspection criteria.
• Develop and deliver training to production staff and junior engineers on implemented processes and best practices.
• Support first‑article and production acceptance testing, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Experience applying manufacturing engineering principles to aerospace or similar high‑tech products.
• Ability to analyse data, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Proven track record of supporting production teams and driving continuous improvement.
• Strong written communication skills for creating clear process documentation.
