Manufacturing Engineer Leader

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer Leader within Wabtec Digital Mine, you will be the cross‑functional reliability specialist who ensures our mining technology solutions are manufacturable, efficient, and robust throughout their lifecycle. Reporting to Global Operations Direction and dotted‑line to the Senior Engineering Director, you will bridge engineering, operations, data, and organisational context to drive predictive and proactive reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Translate product designs into safe, repeatable manufacturing processes, including SOPs, tooling, equipment, and automation balance.
• Improve productivity by removing bottlenecks, optimising layouts, and reducing cycle time and waste.
• Lead shop‑floor problem solving using structured root‑cause analysis and implement effective CAPA.
• Build quality into processes through defined parameters, in‑process controls, SPC, and control plans.
• Support equipment and tooling reliability, including setup, changeover, and fixture/jig improvements.
• Monitor field performance (RMAs, telemetry, site feedback) to detect emerging issues early and conduct deep root‑cause analysis across design, manufacturing, installation, environment, and software.
• Lead cross‑functional improvements with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and product teams.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineering professional with extensive experience in manufacturing process engineering and reliability.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and product teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on predictive and preventative reliability culture.
• Excellent communication skills to act as the voice of production and provide actionable feedback.
