Mandarin/Cantonese Speaking Community Support Worker

About the role

Lumia Care is recruiting Community Support Workers in the Inner West/St George area of Sydney to support elderly clients who live in their own homes. The work involves social support, transport, shopping assistance and meaningful outings, personal care delivered with dignity, and domestic support such as meal preparation and companionship. The role suits people who want flexible hours and a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide social support to clients in the community
• Arrange transport, help with shopping and organise outings
• Deliver personal care with dignity
• Help clients stay independent at home through domestic support and meal preparation
• Offer warm, reliable companionship

Required profile

• A passionate, caring and empathetic personality is essential
• Willingness to learn new skills on the job through training
• Certificate III or IV in Community, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent is highly desirable; current nursing students will also be considered
• Experience in community-based aged care is highly desirable
• Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle are mandatory
• Current First Aid certificate, police check, NDIS worker screening check and Working with Children check (mandatory) or willingness to obtain them
