Managing Director - Electrical Manufacturing

About the role

A listed, global manufacturer of electrical products and components is looking for a Managing Director for its local division in Melbourne. The business supplies highly regulated sectors such as medical devices, energy infrastructure and defence, and the role reports offshore to the Vice President. It is a full P&L leadership position focused on profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a strategic plan that delivers year-on-year profitable growth
• Work with sales, marketing and engineering teams to drive product innovation and customer diversification
• Build a new business pipeline in regulated industries such as defence and aerospace
• Improve plant consistency, productivity and operational performance
• Shape the capital investment plan to support future growth
• Work with global procurement and supply chain to manage materials supply and cost
• Develop leaders and build shared accountability across production, quality, sales, finance, engineering, IT and supply chain

Required profile

• Highly commercial MD or CEO with experience growing a complex B2B manufacturing organisation
• Candidates stepping up from an EGM, COO or GM role may also be considered
• Significant customer credibility, operational discipline and strong coaching leadership style
• Experience in electronics or electrical manufacturing is highly valued
• OEM experience or exposure to defence, medical devices, medtech or aerospace customers is highly regarded

What we offer

• Salary package of $350,000 per annum plus bonus
