About the role
The Department of Justice is seeking a senior leader to head its Ministerial Liaison Unit. This permanent, full‑time position in Perth CBD provides strategic direction for managing ministerial correspondence and ensuring effective communication between the department, the Attorney General’s Office and the Corrective Services Minister’s Office.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a high‑performing team responsible for all ministerial liaison activities.
- Oversee end‑to‑end management of ministerial correspondence, ensuring accuracy, professionalism and timeliness.
- Coordinate information flow between senior executives, parliamentary services, business areas and ministerial offices.
- Address emerging issues and uphold statutory and parliamentary obligations.
- Facilitate effective communication with the Attorney General’s Office and the Corrective Services Ministers Office.
Required profile
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a high‑performing team in a government or public‑sector environment.
- Strong understanding of ministerial processes, statutory obligations and parliamentary procedures.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with senior officials.
Required skills
- Strategic leadership and team management.
- Knowledge of ministerial correspondence protocols.
- Ability to coordinate complex information across multiple departments.
