Manager - Mergers and Acquisitions

About the role

EY Parthenon's M&A Lead Advisory team in Melbourne is looking for a Manager to advise privately owned, publicly listed and private equity clients through all stages of a sale or purchase of a business or asset, or a capital raising process. The role is full-time and based in the Melbourne office.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in all stages of the transaction, from deal origination to completion, including marketing materials, bidder research, valuation analysis and due diligence preparation and coordination.
• Prepare industry research and market mapping to identify potential new clients or targets for private equity and corporate buyers.
• Help build financial data books and analyse financial models.
• Contribute to engagement planning and make sure deliverables meet the project timetable.
• Build client relationships and engage with transaction stakeholders and advisers.
• Manage delivery of work product by junior team members, providing coaching and team leadership.

Required profile

• 4-6 years' work experience.
• Prior transaction experience (M&A, corporate development or due diligence) preferred.
• Bachelor degree in accounting, commerce, finance or law; other backgrounds also considered.
• Strong numeracy and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and to work in a motivated team.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel to learn financial modelling and AI skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
