About the role

MacDonnell Regional Council is recruiting a Manager of Governance, Communication and Advocacy in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive starting salary of $117,159 per annum. The council describes itself as a diverse, culturally rich team where 78% of the workforce is Indigenous.

Key responsibilities

• Provide key advice to internal and external stakeholders across expertise areas
• Oversee strategic and operational planning
• Represent the organisation and negotiate with stakeholders to promote its objectives
• Communicate the strategic direction and vision of the organisation

Required profile

• An experienced manager of governance, communication and advocacy who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Elevated communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills, able to supervise, lead and coach or mentor staff for ongoing professional development
• Adaptable, collaborative and passionate about making a difference
• Valid Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency or a valid work visa)
