Manager, FCC Monitoring & Testing, ANZ

About the role

Airwallex is seeking a Manager for Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Monitoring & Testing in the ANZ region. You will shape and scale a data‑driven, second‑line assurance function, validating AML, sanctions and KYC/KYB controls across production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evolve the global FCC Monitoring & Testing programme, creating risk‑based testing methodologies and annual assurance plans.
• Design comprehensive testing frameworks for customer onboarding, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and regulatory reporting, ensuring coverage keeps pace with product and market expansion.
• Oversee the ANZ monitoring program, establishing KPIs and operating‑effectiveness metrics.
• Advance continuous, data‑enabled assurance using analytics, system logs and automated testing scripts.
• Validate system‑encoded controls such as transaction monitoring thresholds and risk‑rating models.
• Translate testing outcomes into clear reports for executive leadership and track remediation of control deficiencies.
• Represent the FCC function during regulatory examinations, audits and banking partner reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related quantitative discipline.
• 6+ years experience in FCC quality assurance, compliance monitoring, internal audit or a similar second/third‑line control function within fintech, payments or regulated banking.
• Strong technical knowledge of financial crime controls including transaction monitoring, sanctions/PEP screening and digital KYC/KYB workflows.
• Proven mastery of risk‑based testing methodologies and remediation validation.
• High ownership, pragmatic approach and excellent written communication and stakeholder management skills.
