Manager, Corporate Tax – Financial Services

About the role

Grant Thornton Australia is seeking a Manager with financial services industry knowledge to join its Corporate Tax team in Sydney. You will work within a supportive, highly knowledgeable team to deliver tax advisory and compliance services to blue‑chip financial services clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review company and trust tax returns for large financial services clients.
• Research and provide tax consulting advice on topics such as tax consolidation, treaties, hybrid mismatches, CFCs, withholding taxes, thin capitalisation, permanent establishments and AMITs.
• Assist clients with M&A activities, including tax structuring and due‑diligence.
• Support international tax issues, ATO reviews, governance matters and audits.
• Work with the ATO to obtain rulings and prepare technical tax reports.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and proposal preparation.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, Law or related field.
• Significant corporate tax professional services experience with financial services clients.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand complex client businesses.
• Experience coaching and assisting less‑experienced team members.
• Demonstrable work ethic and commitment to excellent client service.

Required skills
