Management Accountant

About the role

The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Management Accountant to join Faculty Operations within the Faculty of Business and Law. The role partners with senior academic and professional leaders to give trusted financial advice that shapes strategic decisions, investment priorities and the delivery of education, research and industry engagement. It is a hybrid position based in Gardens Point, open to applicants with ongoing full-time work rights in Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to advise on financial matters that inform strategy and investment priorities.
• Contribute to long-term planning, business case development and financial performance management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across a diverse portfolio.
• Work alongside a collaborative finance team to develop business partnering capability.

Required profile

• Degree in a related discipline with applicable work experience, or equivalent training and experience.
• Working toward or holding professional membership with CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, or an equivalent body.
• Experience applying financial governance principles and advising stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Financial management: developing, reviewing and analysing large budgets using corporate financial systems.
• Advanced digital literacy and high proficiency in Microsoft Office (including databases) and financial packages such as Oracle, with report development.
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to work in a high-performing team.

What we offer

• Salary of $103,811 to $113,557 per year, with 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading.
