Maintenance Officer

About the role

St Augustine's College is looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Officer to join its Facilities and Maintenance team. Reporting to the Head of Maintenance and Facilities, you will help keep the buildings, grounds and facilities safe, well maintained and looking their best, from day-to-day repairs to preparing the College for events. No formal trade qualification is required.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and day-to-day maintenance across the College
• Tackle handyman jobs, minor repairs and preventative maintenance
• Respond to maintenance requests and help keep facilities running smoothly
• Assist with the upkeep and presentation of buildings, grounds and facilities
• Help with room, furniture and equipment set-ups for College activities and events
• Work with the Head of Maintenance and Facilities and the team on daily priorities
• Liaise with contractors as required
• Spot maintenance and safety issues and help resolve them

Required profile

• Experience in general maintenance, handyman, building, facilities or similar work
• Good practical skills and confidence tackling a variety of jobs
• Reliable, flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication, organisation and attention to detail
• Strong commitment to working safely; full, ongoing work rights required
• Willingness to obtain a bus licence (medium-rigid) is highly regarded
