Maintenance Fitter - Flour Mill, Brisbane

About the role

Mauri, part of the George Weston Foods Group, is a supplier of flours, yeasts, pre-mixes, improvers, grains and animal nutrition across Australia and New Zealand. It is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its Maintenance team at the Moorooka flour mill in Brisbane. The role is primarily Monday to Friday on rostered day and afternoon shifts, with an early finish on Fridays.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across plant and equipment.
• Support breakdown repairs and minimise downtime.
• Fault find and troubleshoot mechanical systems, and where applicable electrical systems.
• Support fabrication, fitting and repair work as required.
• Contribute to a safe, clean and compliant manufacturing environment.
• Follow all food safety, quality, safety and site procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant trade qualification, such as Mechanical Fitter & Turner.
• Good understanding of and commitment to health and safety work practices.
• Physically active, comfortable with regular stairs, carrying tools, equipment and general maintenance tasks.
• Prior maintenance experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is desirable.

Required skills

• Electrical licence or Restricted Electrical licence to disconnect and reconnect is mandatory.
• PLC literacy or exposure is desirable but not essential.
• Good communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude.
