Maintenance Engineer

About the role

EnerMech is seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to join its Henderson workshop team. The role focuses on improving asset reliability, equipment performance and maintenance effectiveness to maximise uptime and lifecycle performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures and recurring reliability issues.
• Analyse equipment performance, utilisation and downtime trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance plan development, scheduling and backlog management.
• Coordinate with vendors for engineering support, spares solutions and technical expertise.
• Verify equipment readiness prior to mobilisation, ensuring certifications, inspections and documentation are complete.
• Monitor transport schedules, load‑outs and inventory of materials/consumables.
• Maintain asset registers and tracking systems, and coordinate routine and ad‑hoc facility maintenance.
• Implement and sustain 5S and other workplace organisation initiatives, supporting HSE and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade background with engineering experience.
• Proven experience in maintenance engineering, reliability improvement or workshop operations, preferably in heavy industry or oil & gas.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors and facility service providers.
• Understanding of HSE legislative requirements and workplace safety systems.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
