Maintenance Assistant

About the role

As a Maintenance Assistant at Mantra One in Hobart, you will be the go‑to person for all repair, maintenance and improvement tasks across our boutique hotel. You’ll ensure rooms, amenities and communal areas remain in top condition while working both independently and with a diverse team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair rooms, amenities and communal spaces to high standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to urgent issues such as leaks or equipment failures.
• Collaborate with the General Manager, guests, contractors and other team members.
• Identify potential problems early and propose practical solutions.

Required profile

• Physically fit with a “get‑up‑and‑go” attitude.
• Available to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication at all levels.

Required skills

• General building maintenance – basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks (no formal qualification required).
