Maintenance Assistant – Hotel Property

About the role

Join the Mantra One team in Hobart as a Maintenance Assistant, responsible for keeping our boutique hotel rooms, apartments and communal areas in top condition. You will work hands‑on across a variety of repair, improvement and preventative tasks, ensuring guests enjoy a flawless environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair guest rooms, amenities and shared spaces, addressing issues promptly.
• Carry out preventative maintenance projects to avoid future disruptions.
• Collaborate with the hotel team, contractors and the General Manager, balancing independent work with teamwork.
• Identify potential problems early and implement effective solutions.

Required profile

• Physically capable and motivated to complete tasks safely and to a high standard.
• Previous hands‑on experience in general building maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing or electrical work (no formal qualification required).
• Strong problem‑solving ability and clear communication with guests, staff and external contractors.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
