Litigation Partner - Darwin

About the role

HWL Ebsworth is looking for a Litigation Partner for its Darwin office, a growing Northern Territory practice supported by an established client base and a national platform. The role sits within a well-established litigation team backed by a national network of more than 270 partners, offering exposure to a diverse disputes practice serving government agencies, major institutions, ASX-listed companies, insurers, private enterprises and high net worth individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex, high-profile disputes and lead a team across commercial, regulatory, government and insurance-related matters.
• Work closely with experienced local and national litigation practitioners.
• Lead commercial litigation and dispute resolution, including government, regulatory and administrative law matters, construction and infrastructure disputes, banking, finance and insolvency disputes, insurance and institutional liability claims, employment disputes, and native title, land and resource matters.

Required profile

• Ideal candidate is an established Partner, Special Counsel or senior practitioner ready to step into partnership, especially those seeking a lifestyle change without compromising the quality or scale of work.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and experience managing matters and clients across a range of contentious issues; the firm's referral model supports a partner new to the market.
• A commercial mindset and commitment to exceptional client outcomes.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative partnership.
