Lifestyle Assistant

About the role

Mercy Health is looking for a Lifestyle Assistant to join an experienced, engaged and dedicated team and play a key part in planning and delivering wellbeing activities for residents. The role can be based at Mercy Place Keon Park (Reservoir) or Mercy Place Templestowe depending on operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of recreational and social programs that enhance residents' wellbeing.
• Support the Lifestyle Coordinator with program planning and the orientation of new team members.
• Work individually with residents in line with their lifestyle plans and document progress accurately.
• Ensure programs meet residents' needs and accreditation standards.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and encourage community involvement.
• Demonstrate understanding of the cognitive, social and spiritual needs of residents and their families.

Required profile

• Resilient, compassionate and committed to patient-centred care.
• Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with flexibility, adaptability and problem-solving ability.
• Preferred: memory support unit experience and understanding of the lifestyle needs of residents who are cognitively impaired.
• A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to resident emotional and spiritual care and management.
• Ability to build friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team.

Required skills

• Evidence of, or progress toward, Cert IV in Leisure & Lifestyle.
• Current police check.
