Level 1 IT Support Technician (Starting Your IT Career)

About the role

GravIT, a Geelong-owned and operated managed IT provider serving businesses across Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast, is hiring Level 1 IT Support Technicians through Workforce Extensions. This is a frontline support role for people starting their IT career, ideally those finishing or having recently finished a degree or diploma in IT or cyber security. The position is full-time, 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, at the North Geelong office.

Key responsibilities

• Answer client calls and emails and act as the friendly, professional voice of GravIT
• Troubleshoot everyday client issues, including email, Microsoft 365, devices, printers and connectivity
• Set up and remove staff accounts and devices when clients have people starting or leaving
• Keep clients updated on progress until their issue is resolved
• Record work clearly in the job management system
• Ask for help and learn from more experienced technicians

Required profile

• Enjoys helping people and can explain technical things in plain language
• Excellent spoken and written English, needed for daily client contact by phone and email
• Genuine interest in technology and cyber security
• Keen to learn and take on feedback
• Based in or near Geelong and able to work from the North Geelong office

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 Fundamentals certification is an advantage but not required
