Legal Counsel - Financial Markets

About the role

NAB is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its Markets Legal team and provide legal advice to NAB Group on financial markets-related matters. The role suits someone who wants to build and progress their career while supporting positive outcomes for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise and legal advice on a range of financial markets transactional and regulatory matters.
• Negotiate and draft client transaction documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with the NAB Markets business.
• Contribute to the positive team culture of the Markets Legal team.

Required profile

• 3-4 years or more of post-admission experience in private, public and/or in-house legal practice, with a current Australian Practising Certificate.
• Experience advising a global financial markets business with a strong regulatory focus is highly desirable.
• Ability to deliver clear, pragmatic advice that balances risk with customer and business outcomes.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, able to juggle competing demands in a busy environment.

Required skills

• Strong drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Current Australian Practising Certificate.
