Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in IT – Artificial Intelligence

About the role

Southern Cross University is seeking an academic leader to shape and deliver advanced AI curriculum from 2027 onward. You will join a growing Information Technology discipline, contributing to both teaching and research in a regional university environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative AI units for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, covering large language models, multimodal AI, fine‑tuning, retrieval‑augmented generation and agentic AI.
• Engage with industry partners, support the broader IT discipline, and contribute to collaborative research projects and publications.

Required profile

• PhD focused on Artificial Intelligence.
• Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in AI, IT or Data Science and a strong record of research outputs.

Required skills

• Expertise in large language models (LLMs) and multimodal AI.
• Hands‑on experience with fine‑tuning, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and agentic AI.
