About the role

Western Sydney University seeks a Lecturer in Finance to deliver high‑quality teaching and conduct research on its Parramatta City Campus. The role involves designing finance units, supervising research students, and contributing to curriculum development and grant applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging finance units with effective assessment and feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum development and ensure content reflects contemporary practice.
• Engage in research, publish in quality outlets, and support competitive grant submissions.
• Supervise higher degree research students and build a pipeline of research candidates.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues across the School and Faculty and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.

Required profile

• PhD in Finance or a closely related field.
• Excellent university‑level teaching record with evidence of curriculum development.
• Developing research profile with publications in high‑quality journals or potential to publish in ABDC A* and A journals.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and a culturally safe learning environment.

Required skills

• Experience in curriculum design and innovation (preferred).
