Lecturer (Education Focused) in Midwifery

About the role

Monash University is seeking a part-time (0.6 FTE) Lecturer (Midwifery, education focused) at the Clayton or Peninsula campus. The role contributes to the design and delivery of evidence-informed education for future midwives, with a specialist focus on complex care midwifery within the Master of Advanced Midwifery. It is a continuing appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to curriculum and unit development, teaching delivery, assessment and unit coordination across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, with a specialist focus on complex care midwifery.
• Collaborate with clinical partners and academic colleagues to foster inclusive, student-centred learning environments.
• Lead teaching initiatives, supervise postgraduate research and use student feedback to improve the learning experience.
• Contribute to educational scholarship.

Required profile

• Master's degree or doctoral qualification in midwifery or nursing.
• Postgraduate qualification in complex care midwifery and/or critical care nursing.
• Current NMBA registration as a Midwife or Registered Nurse and Midwife.
• Able to demonstrate present valid and current Australian work rights.
• Relevant clinical experience in complex care midwifery, tertiary or clinical teaching experience, and a track record of educational or clinical leadership.

What we offer

• Remuneration pro-rata of $123,138 - $146,228 per annum (Level B), plus 17% employer superannuation.
• Flexible and hybrid working arrangements; the position requires working on campus on a weekly basis.
