Learning Skills Teacher – TAFE Queensland Gold Coast

About the role

The Learning Skills Teacher will design and deliver high‑quality foundation‑skill programmes that support students in language, literacy, numeracy and digital competencies. Working from the Southport campus, you will collaborate with teaching teams and Student Support Services to embed these skills across vocational courses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver training and assessment in classroom, online and blended formats.
• Design flexible, inclusive learning programs aligned with foundation‑skills frameworks.
• Integrate language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills into vocational contexts.
• Develop assessment tools and participate in validation and moderation processes.
• Support diverse student cohorts, including ESL and NESB learners.
• Build strong relationships with students, staff and industry stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold TAFE Queensland values.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the VET sector and contemporary teaching practices.
• Ability to deliver innovative, student‑centred learning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to inclusive, equitable and safe learning environments.
• Proactive approach to professional development.

Required skills

• Experience delivering training in classroom, online and blended environments.

• Salary $92,930 – $105,218 per annum plus 12.75% superannuation.
