Leading Hand

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our South Australian civil construction team, working on both metropolitan and regional projects. You will lead site crews, support daily operations, and help deliver high‑quality infrastructure while travelling as required and occasionally working night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise construction crews on site.
• Support daily site operations and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with the project team, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Provide hands‑on guidance and support to crew members.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the site.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• Road construction experience preferred, especially on DIT or Council projects.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in civil construction.
• Previous experience working as a Leading Hand.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Hands‑on experience with roadworks, earthworks, drainage, or civil works.
• Ability to read plans and deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
