Lead System Administrator

About the role

The Lead System Administrator will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's Windows-based infrastructure. This permanent, hybrid position is based in Sydney and requires immediate onboarding to support critical business services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Windows Server environments (2016 and newer), including licensing, Active Directory, DNS, GPO, RDS, and SSTP.
• Configure and maintain Entra ID with MFA and Conditional Access policies.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and develop PowerShell automation.
• Monitor systems using Sentinel for log analysis and incident detection.
• Deploy and optimise Nutanix clusters via Prism Central, handling AD authentication and resource allocation.
• Implement Nginx load balancing and reverse proxy solutions.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, create system diagrams, and maintain documentation.
• Provide L2/L3 escalation support for Windows 10 LTSC and Windows 11 Pro workstations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior or lead system administration roles within Windows environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Excellent communication for collaborating with cross‑functional teams and documenting solutions.
