Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

GR Engineering Services Limited is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join its Ascot office. You will work on a variety of mining and mineral processing projects across Australia, providing technical leadership from concept through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams to meet design budgets and schedules.
• Develop layouts, conceptual designs and detailed mechanical calculations.
• Review mechanical drawings, vendor documentation and tender evaluations.
• Prepare and assess data sheets, scopes of work and equipment procurement packages.
• Conduct internal and client design reviews, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
• Support remote construction activities and collaborate with on‑site commissioning teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on experience in design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants.
• Proven ability to deliver multi‑discipline engineering solutions on time and within budget.
