Lead Early Childhood Educator (Diploma Qualified)

About the role

The Y Canberra Region is seeking a passionate Lead Educator to join the Holder Early Learning Centre. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to shape a safe, nurturing environment for children while leading a dedicated early childhood team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily educational programs in line with the EYLF and NQF frameworks.
• Mentor and support early childhood staff, fostering professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with child safety policies, including regular audits and reporting.
• Collaborate with families and the wider community to support each child’s development.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all centre activities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education (mandatory).
• Full‑time availability, Monday‑Friday, 7 am‑6 pm.
• Solid experience in the early childhood sector.
• Strong communication skills.
• Current Foundations of Child Safety Training Certificate.
• Current Paid ACT Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
• First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates or willingness to obtain them.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).
