Lead Business Analyst

About the role

Australian Payments Plus (AP+) brings together eftpos, BPAY and NPP Australia to support Australia's payments infrastructure. It is looking for a Lead Business Analyst to guide analysis across key initiatives, lead and develop a team of business analysts and turn complex business needs into practical solutions. The role sits within the Business Analysis Community of Practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of business analysts across a range of projects, with regular check-ins and quarterly reviews, and coach and mentor them
• Contribute to capability development, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the BA function
• Ensure business analysis artefacts meet delivery and governance standards
• Take part in business analysis tasks from early investigation and scoping through to delivery, working with stakeholders across business and technology teams
• Work with the Delivery Lead and Project Managers so that analysis supports project delivery
• Lead analysis across the project lifecycle, including business cases, feasibility assessments, impact analysis and project scoping
• Guide requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, prioritisation and management through delivery and into operations
• Develop and oversee business process, data and other models, and build trusted stakeholder relationships
• Identify process improvements, assess risks and recommend options, and communicate findings clearly to business and technology audiences
• Maintain the quality and consistency of the team's deliverables and share thought leadership on methods and standards

Required profile

• Around 5-7 years of progressive business analysis experience, including complex initiatives
• Experience leading or mentoring a small team of business analysts
• Collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement, facilitation and decision-making
• Degree or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of payments technology, IT systems or financial services highly regarded

Required skills

• Situation analysis, feasibility assessment, business case development and requirements management
• Process and data modelling, and experience supporting user acceptance testing
• Familiarity with structured business analysis frameworks, including Agile and Waterfall
• Experience with delivery tools such as Jira
