Law Professor – Academic Leadership Role

About the role

Western Sydney University’s School of Law is seeking a senior academic leader to drive excellence in teaching, research and community engagement. This full‑time, permanent position will shape contemporary blended learning for a diverse student body and enhance the School’s national and international reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver innovative blended curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes.
• Lead curriculum renewal and pedagogical practice across the School.
• Mentor early‑ and mid‑career academics, fostering a strong teaching and research culture.
• Develop and manage high‑impact research projects aligned with clusters such as commercial law, human rights, international law and social justice.
• Build and sustain partnerships with industry, professional bodies, community organisations and international institutions.

Required profile

• PhD in law or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership in teaching, research and external engagement.
• Proven record of attracting external research funding and supervising postgraduate students.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills across academia, industry and community sectors.
